We had to stop on the way to sign Lee Jr. up for football and as I filled out the paper work they took the opportunity to get in some practice as they tried their new dancing shoes on the concrete. It was the cutest performance I've ever seen and it left me with a full heart. I hated to leave that moment but the clock was ticking and we had to get to class! As we drove to the class the girls were so excited and I would ask them if they were ready to dance and they'd scream YEAH at the top of their lungs!!
We waited for a few minutes and the girls visited with some of the other little girls that were going to be in their class as I talked to their moms! It was our turn as we filed into the room the girls were amazed with the mirrors and they just kept tapping away as they watched the baby looking back at them. They kept saying mom look the baby is dancing!! LOL!! I felt a big relief as they seemed to be doing so well and mingling with the kids etc. As the instructor called the kids to sit by the mirror Arianna ran off and sat down, but Olivia wasen't so sure she wanted to go. After standing and taking it all in she slowly waltz over to Arianna and sat down! Wow they're really going to do it!! I quietly left the room with a big smile on my face to join the other hopeful mothers in the viewing area. It wasen't long before Olivia looked around and began to cry because I wasen't there. Then everyone laughed as Arianna screamed "Mom sissy is crying!!" I was waved back into the room! I was told it was to be expected because it was their first time there and it was all new to them. Ok feeling a little better because another little girl began to sob and then another! Wow it does really happen!! No other mothers were as kind as me because none of them came!! this two little girls soon joined Olivia on my lap!
Before long I was joining the dance exercises with three toddlers clinging to my side and Arianna close by!! Who would have known?? LOL!! Arianna soon warmed up but Olivia just wanted to do her own thing!! She watched as the kids danced their way across the floor and occasionally she'd like the beat and join in but for the most part she just clung to me!!
Arianna was a dancing diva until the instructor told her to please go back in line with the other girls instead of being front and center! Well she just was not having that!! I mean come on what was Laura thinking??? This show was all about her and she was not about to sit second chair to some old lady..instrucotr or not!! She threw one MAJOR fit!!! Laura felt bad and told her she could come back and that was the end of the tears!! Just like a faucet they were turned off and gone!! LOL!! Man oh man what am I going to do with them!!!
Both of them did LOVE the tap exercises and Olivia even joined in!! She kept watching me to make sure I wasen't leaving but she did it!! I was so proud of them!! I can say they did pretty good since they were the only two year olds in the class and this was there first time being with someone other than me who was telling them what to do.....well except Lee Jr. who bosses them around any chance he gets!! At the end of class they happily placed their jazz shoes in their bag and hot in line to get a sucker and they were off all smiles once again!!
I guess they'll do better each week, but I won't force them to go. If I see they aren't doing better or they don't like it I will simply not take them back until next year! I know as a child I loved it and I hope they do to. I gave it up after years of attending because I liked softball way more and couldn't juggle both! I was told tonight that they have an adult dance class on Tuesday nights so I may just check it out!! Who knows I might be able to get some of curves back....or at least lose a few pounds!! I also think it would be a great stress relief! I'll think about it and stay tuned for my big decision! I did tell Duane I would only join her class on one condition...I will NOT be seen dead in a leotard!!! ROFL!!!!

While all the other little girls were dancing Olivia was collecting their dancing bags! When she was done she returned to the floor and wanted to dance with every last one of them!

Oh they look so cute in those little leatards! I can't believe they make them so small! Hope they have fun!
